"Me - Stories of My Life" by Katharine Hepburn
Просмотров 195 тыс.6 лет назад
"Me - Stories of My Life" AUDIOBOOK - Narrated by Miss Katharine Hepburn, herself, this biography is a wonderfully entertaining and charming look into the life of a Hollywood legend. Gut-honest, self-effacing and to the point, Katharine tells us the fascinating stories of her well-lived life. Not all in order and in some areas she is quite frankly scattered and all over the map. However, her st...

Hollywood Without Makeup (RARE HOME MOVIES)

Ken Murray came to California in the 1920s as a homesick vaudeville actor. He wanted to stay in contact with his family back east, but hated writing letters. Instead, he got a camera and sent home 16 mm reels he'd shot of the early Hollywood stars when they weren't working. Ken shares three decades of personal home movies of dozens of Hollywood stars. Not only does he share his own, but home mo...

Who was the lady that had a cane, I couldn't understand them when her name was announced
Who's that cute young man at 5:12?
To @delavalmilker; that is Claude Jarman Jr., who is still alive at 89, and should he make it to September 27, 2024 he will be 90.
WHO is Anne Bauchens???
Ava Gardner is from my home state of NC
No celebrations in this year (2024) even though it's the 100 anniversary of MGM
Bummer it's because we don't have any of those stars anymore and MGM doesn't exist anymore only in name
Shirley MacLaine 90 as of APRIL 2024
GEORGE HAMILTON aged 84 AS OF APRIL 2024
Clint Eastwood is 94
😔 I'm sorry, even though I liked her as an actress, I can't take her voice as a narrator. It's too irritating. 😔
2024?
An admirer!

Voice is not clear
She was older when she recorded this. Put on some headphones if you can’t hear it well.
Old Hollywood is always.... YOUNG and BEAUTIFUL! ♥️
A treasure! These stars made the History of motion picture! So relaxing and sweet to look at all of them. And thanks for this jewel video❤️❤️❤️. To be kept and watched over and over. THANKS!
Strange that Vera Ellen is nowhere to be seen. She was a big MGM star at this time having just completed "On the Town" with Gene Kelly and about to do "Three Little Words" with Fred Astaire. Was she not invited?
@jackjules7552 She withdrew from the public eye in the late 1960s and 1970s+. No one really knows why. Yes, she lost a baby to SIDS and that is traumatic enough, but she still attended dance classes. Anyway, Frank Sinatra isn't there either. Nor was Leslie Caron or Lena Horne or Lana Turner, Van Johnson, Mickey Rooney, Ann Miller, Jane Powell, Lucille Ball, and Katharine Hepburn, in the 1974 reunion.
@@Dory8TY for the info I never knew that I wonder why they didn't show up
Sinatra was there; I bet he was checking out Ava Gardner sitting next to Clark Gable!
O my goodness thanks for sharing this these were back in my days when I was in my 40s I’am now 82 years wow thank i remember this
Difficult to understand. Apparently Joan went through life wearing two faces. A face for her loyal fans. The glamorous movie star. Helping the less fortunate made Joan feel justifiable in her horrible behavior. A face whose behavior only friends and acquaintances knew about. You hear Stanwyck talking about Joan’s disturbing behavior.. which appalled Stanwyck. Stanwyck, a kind, caring loyal friend to janitors, crew, fans, fellow players. Everyone loved Stanwyck. So for her to speak out against one of her oldest friends means Stanwyck has been putting up with Crawford's antics for decades. Joan wasn’t a nice person, Joan was a drunkard and child abuser. Joan was mentally disturbed IMO. She never dealt with her childhood trauma. People didn’t in those days didn’t seek out help. Joan is the product of childhood trauma. Undiagnosed and untreated, you have millions of Joan’s trying to make their way through life. Joan did whilst wearing face number one.
Stanwyke treated her adopted son horribly... Joan was kind to others she had bipolar. She and Barbara were lovers. I find Barbara an evil , backstabbing bitch
I feel like this is the most accurate assessment we could come to, tbh.
This is simply awesome to hear The Great Kate read her story!
claude jarman jr only one still living dec 2023 89
Claude 89 and Margaret O'Brien 87 January 2024.
Isn't Russ Tamblyn still alive?
Yes..Mr.Tamblyn is still with us.
Errol Flynn was the best actor during those years, since 1935 until 1959,.
I believe Claude Jarman, Jr., Margaret O'Brien, and Liza Minnelli are the only survivors out of that group of legendary movie stars.
Yes just those three. Zsa Zsa Gabor who died in 2016 aged 99, remains the longest-lived of all these stars.
Theresa Wright is still alive isn't she and Clint Eastwood is 94 Dick Van Dyke is 98..Russ Tamblyn and Shirley McLaine is still with us
The great White Way lol bigots
Wow
What a woman! The Great Kate. The more of herself I've heard about her, the more I am amazed. Lucky to have known a couple of her friends and a late of days caregiver.
Love Buster Keaton at 5:11
This is NEXT LEVEL. Thank you so much for posting this.
Love Katherine Hepburn. She is such a Taurus. Determination and preservation. Thank you.
How entrancing! When was this first broadcast?
Originally syndicated in 1963.
Never mentioned the transients or transparents !
I know that 3 of them are still alive.
MGM will rise again with more stars than there are in the heavens after the media giants get trust busted and the old Studio System returns taking Hollywood back to these days.
No, it won't.
@@eblackadder3 Oh yes it will.
It's a TREASURE to be able to hear this book read by such an extraordinary woman, by her own voice, who just wished to be HERSELF. She succeeded marvelously and taught us a lot about life and how to go through it. A GREAT THANKS A LOT for putting "ME" on You Tube!
I have the book and have enjoyed listening to this book . She had a very familiar voice ... she's a very strong independent woman with a soft side I didn't always agree with her views but I certainly respected her . She was a fabulous actress, Spencer Tracey was my favourite actor but the two was good together. I love her honesty ❤️
That first interview was such BS- they were just performing- even Joan's "accent." BS was fine except in the last interview, she seemed odd and maybe even tipsy herself. I don't really know what most of that last interview was about except Joan 's jewels, dog, and suspicion of cancer.
Why is some of them wearing what seems to be period costume?
Because some of them are still in costume for the movies they were filming that day.
THANK YOU for making this available. I love hearing Kate's story -in her own voice. I was lucky enough to see her perform on Broadway, and then my mom and I waited outside of the stage door, hoping to say hello. We got so much more than a 'hello,' as she spent 15 min talking with us, while her driver waited.
Magic time
So raw, so honest. A woman who looks herself in the mirror and try’s never to deceive herself is a powerful woman. The ending is a loving gift. I was surprised with this.
Thank you.
Broken hearted, Couldnt hear it. Im so disappointed… 😢
Katherine Hepburn, the great Kate,an Hollywood actress,of both my grandparents generation, love the classic films,a good story line, clean, not nudity or bad language,if only films were like that now🎬
ELIZABETH TAYLOR WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN EVER!!!!!!!!
AVA GARDNER LA PLUS JOLIE ACTRICE AMÉRICAINE c'est évident !
@ME-bl3xg Bite your tongue! Vivien Leigh was and Debbie Reynolds (here).
So were the Gabor's
Thanks! A reminder when elegance and class prevailed!
Speaking of elegance and class, Vera Ellen is nowhere to be seen here. She was one of MGM's big dancing stars at MGM at this time.
No Montgomery Clift????? shame
Thank you for uploading this <3
Loved her We could sure use her now to get rid if the woke trash ruining Hollywood and television now
I know Errol Flynn was with Warner Bros, but he was still a big star. Why not introduce him?
